I have loved Vikings football my whole life, and it was very very hard to watch last year, if they don’t show a pulse next year I think it will be time to move on.

Chillys basic theorys on stop the run and establish the run are solid,(although alittle out dated) but he is being out coached week in and week out. If you don’t change your game plan at all, based on who you are playing, you are a very easy team to figure out. Epecially with no passing game. Please let somebody else call the plays “please”
Run for 2-3 yards– run for 1-2 yards and then pass for 2 yards and hope your receiver makes some moves to get the first down and punt!!??
My wife knows very little about football and SHE figured out what was coming 90% of the time.
Chilly has also let an awful lot of very good players go and I don’t understand that at all. Last years draft was a joke!! half of the players were drafted way higher than experts thought they should go.
I did think this years draft looked to be much better and way way smarter, none of the players were taken way to early.(thank you Spielman)
I love my Vikings, lets get a respectable team going, and for Gods sakes lets build the new stadium already, before it’s the LA Vikings.
If things don’t improve soon (this is the weakest division in the NFL, come on!!) then how could you justify keeping Chilly around any longer!!!!

I’m confused at how this could even be a question. No coach in history was fired after a single year. The silver lining is that the more you so-called fans piss and moan in this way, the longer the rebuilt Vikings can fly under the radar.

VIKINGS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN MY ALL TIME FAVORITE IN THE NFL, BUT MAN IT BROKE MY HEART LAST YEAR WHEN I HAD TO SIT THEIR AND WATCH THE VIKINGS FALL APART SO BAD. I REALLY WAS IN TEARS OVER LAST SEASON. I DON’T WANT TO HAVE TO CHOOSE ANOTHER TEAM I’M ALWAYS SAYING WELL MAYBE NEXT YEAR WILL BE BETTER. IT’S TIME THAT THE VIKINGS GET THERE CRAP AND THEIR HEADS OUT OF THEIR BUTT OR WHERE EVER ITS BEEN LATELY. THEIR FANS ARE DWINDLING DOWN SO FAST THEY HAVE NO IDEA. THEY NEED TO GO BACK TO COLLEGE FOOTBALL AND LEARN THE GAME ALL OVER AGAIN. COLLEGE FOOTBALL PUTS THE VIKINGS TO SHAME. I REALLY DON’T THINK THE VIKINGS CARE ANYMORE. THEIR JUST THEIR FOR THE MONEY, THAT THEY REALLY DON’T DESERVE. I HOPE AT LEAST ONE OF YOU VIKINGS WILL READ THIS BECAUSE I CAN GAURANTEE THAT 50 PERCENT OF YOUR FANS FEEL THE SAME WAY I DO THEIR JUST NOT READY TO ADMIT IT YET, BUT THEY WILL COME TO EXCEPT IT SOON, IF NOTHING CHANGES THIS SEASON

I’ve watched this team since 1968 and these are sad, sad days. We got rid of Mike Tice for this guy? And we’ve gone from one bad owner to another.
This used to be a great team to watch. Younger Vikings fans don’t know what they’ve missed.
But where do you find another Bud Grant?
And don’t give me that crap about “never won a Super Bowl.”
I’ll swap four Super Bowl appearances for 6-10 seasons any day!

The Minnesota Vikings have been in a tail spin ever since Brad Childress has been the coach. The level of fan anger and/or hopelessness is unparralled to anything I’ve ever seen before as a Vikings fan. I seem to run across more and more fans (or former fans) who generally fit into one of two categories.
1- The “I’m just rooting for the Vikings to do bad so Chilly will get handed his walking papers. Then we can get our team back.” crowd
or..
2- “I’ve been a Viking fan for 20,30 + years and lately I could care less about the team. Brad and Co. have sucked the life outta the organization. Let them move for all I care.” group
Of course there will always be the few lemmings who cheer regardless of profromance and accept arrogant futility.
and in response to “Vike Fan in Ca said”-
Ray Rhodes was fired after one year as head coach in Green Bay after going 8-8.

When Zygi Wilf bought this team he talked about how
this was going to be a top class organization from top to bottom. It’s painfully obvious Childress is in way over his head. Do the right thing Zygi B4 your franchise is the laughing stock of the league.
Going 3-11 in your last 14 games qualifies for NOT getting it done. This is embarassing as a fan..PLEASE FIRE YOUR INCOMPETENT COACH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Les Steckel would be preferable than watching that idiot Childress get outcoached (to his amazement) week after week, and I loathed Steckel. Maybe Zygi will fire the Chiller sooner than later if attendance falls under a couple hundred. Please Viking fans in Minny, boycott this garbage.

“No coach in history was fired after a single year”.
Really? Really……….Let me stop and think.
Les Steckel- Vikings, 1984 (Duh)
Ray Rhodes- Green Bay, 1999
Art Shell, Raider, 2006 (Just a season ago)
Bill Callahan, Raiders, 2003 I think.

Why, oh Dear Lord, Why!?! Why are the Vikings, a formerly great football team the rough equivalent of the Chicago Cubs? We get close (and we have not been there for a while) and then fall short. This bites the big one. The current “leadership” (if I am allowed very large leeway in using that term) sucks so bad that things that suck think they suck. PLEASE FIRE BRAD CHILDRESS!!!!!!

Not true Vike Fan in Ca….Ray Rhodes lasted one year in Green Bay…ofcourse that was a racial move as you need to at least wait 2 years for a coaches plan to be implemented to see if it is going to work unless your owner is a racist ofcourse. But still that laid the foundation and precedent that it can be done and if there ever was another situation that was warranted to firing your head coach in one year it was Brad Childress last year.

Fire him now do not pass go. I have been a fan since the early 70’s I live in Indiana and have traveled to many other states when I can to watch them play. But never again until he is gone. Childress brand of football reminds me of watching my Son’s Jr High games. Actually they are more exciting they score once in a while. Play calling, personal choices, adjustments at half time. He does nothing right. I can not believe anyone even goes to the games. I feel sorry for season ticket owners. Hey Zygi don’t worry about a new stadium if you keep backing Chilly you won’t need one because you will not have any fans. My Sons have already abandon them. They say they are boring to watch. Which I am sure is what the media thinks also. So forget future exposure on Monday night or prime time football. It is a shame a once proud organization has sank so far.

Spielman and Childress are to blame for where the team is right now. Childress is stuck with subpar players at very key positions, QB, #1-WR, LT, RT and RG. Was Chilly ever given the green light to go after tier one free agents?? I don’t know. If he was, he did a horrendous job. Wade is a #2 or 3 receiver. Jackson is too green. Cook a 7th rd pick, picked in the 2nd rd, is a college center expected to play RT?? These are amateur moves.
Rob Brzezinski has done a fantastic job with the structuring of contracts/cap to provide the room to go after tier one free agents. VP of player personnel Spielman has to be accountable for the lack of talent at those key positions as well as Chilly.
In order to compete in the NFC, The offense needs a quality QB, a true #1 Wideout, and O-Line help.
The Vikings defense could use an upgrade at CB, namely Asante Samuels (UFA). They would have a terrfic secondary with Gordon & Mcauley learning from two pro-bowl calibre players.
The cap room is there, Wilf seems willing to spend by his recent actions (more coaches, upgraded facilities).
Keeping Spielman and firing Chilly will change nothing IMHO. They both go and bring in Parcels as GM, or Cowher, Marty.

It’s about time this site and focus has been established. Thank-you to the organizers of this site on behalf of once very proud fans. I resonate with many of the previously stated comments and opinions. I just would add this: THE VIKINGS SHEER STUPIDITY IS ONLY SURPASSED BY THEIR CLUELESSNESS, LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM, AND INSULTING DENIAL OF REALITY AND FEIGNED CONFIDENCE!! CHILDRESS IS A LOSER AND AN EMBARRASSMENT AND IS CEMENTING OUR LEGACY AS A LAUGHABLY LOSING ORGANIZATION. FIRE HIM YESTERDAY!!!!

I don’t think Spielman can be blamed for the current state of affairs. The Peterson pick was great value. He could easily take rookie of the year honors, and I liked the remainder of this year’s draft a lot.
Last year’s draft was clownish by comparison, with Cook and Jackson considered by consensus to be 2 of the biggest reaches of the entire draft. I have nothing against these players, they could very well work out, but huge value was thrown away in taking them where they were picked.
That draft was run by Childress and Fran Foley, not Spielman. It was also on Childress and Foley’s watch that Nate Burleson was allowed to walk with no compensation. Not a huge mistake, perhaps, but given the state of the receiving corps, it was unquestionably stupid. They could have signed him to a reasonable offer sheet; he was a RESTRICTED free agent. Stupid.
As to taking advantage of the talent that IS there, that is all on Mr. Kick Ass offense, Brad Childress, who is now well on his way to taking a 9-7 Tice playoff team right to the top of the draft. The “soft” part of the schedule is over, and anyone who looks at it objectively will not be able to find more than perhaps 2 games left on the schedule in which the Vikings will be the favorite, barring a total about face in the offense.
The complete ineptitude of the current “kick ass” offense, if left unchanged, should be the deal breaker on keeping Childress.

The Pep Boys gotta go. Zygi & Spielman I can wait on. But Childress must go, now! I have no tolerance left for this guy. Can’t the Vikes “just end the season” (JETS) without a head coach?
Hell, a life size cardboard cutout of the Chiller would be an improvement. They might still suck, only without the arrogance.
